How to Write Horror and Dark Fantasy Novels

First of all, which is the difference between horror and dark fantasy? Well, dark fantasy is a variant of the horror genre and differs from the main one by the fanciful character. Let’s see therefore how we can write our novel: the quality of your writing is the main step that comes from the intensive reading of the best books available, are you a good critic of the most known novels ? You will be probably a good critic of yourself. A good writer can write everything, so first try to be a good writer and if you already are then you can specialize yourself in a specific genre. When we are writing our novel we want to get very detailed in the description of the scenes, of the people involved and of their thinking and of their way to act and to feel: doing this will help our reader to create, word after word, a landscape in his mind that will not happen if we are superficial in our exposing. Also the organization of the novel is very important: we must have in our mind the main idea that is about the story expressed in few sentences, then, like in a tree in which we start from the trunk and we arrive at the branches and then to the twigs, we subdivide it in episodes and then in scenes. We will start writing these last ones very carefully to assemble them rather to create our episodes that put together will be our complet novel. When writing our novel we want to get absorbed completely, it should excite for first us so let’s write in the right mood and if we are not then it’s better to have a walk, when we have finished something then we can read it again and see if does us the same as before. When we have completed our opera then we can read it again from the beginning to the end and if we are proud of it then it’s time to sell it. How can we promote our dark fantasy or horror novel ? Well,to avoid the printing before the selling we can use lulu. com that charge us only for printing that is made only for the copies that are sold, but to get readers to us we should use article marketing technique that is about writing articles and sending them to the article directories that can be found by searching Google by “article directories”: our articles should be reviews of famous novels or movies since we can’t put here excerpts of our book, at their end we should put a link to our sales page in which we give for free download an excerpt of our novel. This excerpt should be long enough to capture the attention of our reader and should be an incomplete episode in which there is not its final: this will create the required suspense to generate the need of the book itself, at its end we will put a link to the page from which it can be ordered.

Big Brother: After Dark - is it Worth the Ten Bucks a Month?

TV bums have yet another reason to stick to the tube and watch all night as CBS has come up with another Big Brother treat for eager fans. The new Big Brother add-on, Big Brother: After Dark, will soon be airing on Showtime’s sister network, ShoToo. The new show will be aired nightly for not one, not two, but three full hours of live Big Brother telecasts.

But what exactly does Big Brother: After Dark have that the Big Brother 8 doesn’t? Well first of all, the primetime show will be featuring all the profanity and nudity the house mates are bound to show. However, a question for the audiences lie, should they spend ten bucks to subscribe to ShoToo just because of one show?

Fans may already have subscribed to the 24 hour live feeds for fifteen bucks a month, however, the live video feeds have lower picture quality than what Big Brother: After Dark can offer. Subscribing to Showtime and ShoToo would cost you around ten dollars monthly, depending on the cable provider. However, if one opts for the cable subscription, you won’t get the full 24 hours of Big Brother coverage.

But thinking about it, three hours may just be enough for fans to get a glimpse of the Big Brother house mates. The producers have set the air time at 9PM-12AM PT/12AM-3AM ET, which is primetime for the house mates themselves. Or to put it bluntly, this is the time that they’re the drunkest, thus making good TV material.

So if you’re really a die hard Big Brother fan, might as well shell off ten dollars a month for three full hours of quality picture Big Brother coverage featuring the uncensored house mates living it off in the house, right on your primetime TV viewing schedule.

For more resources about Big Brother or for the full story of Big Brother: After Dark - Is it worth the ten bucks a month? please review this link http://www. buddytv. com

Dark Secret About Education Part II

In my previous article called the Dark Secret About Education, I used four of my five steps (from a coaching process I call successful living )to focus on the need to reform our educational system. This article will complete my discussion.

Believe in Positive Power.

We can revitalize the whole educational system by more study of an emphasis on ethics, logic, philosophy, religions, the arts, sciences, and a greater awareness of the power of positive thinking. Our educators could start by teaching young people, The Five Steps To Successful Living.

Above all else, young people should be given more opportunity to creatively discuss, and become involved in solving current social problems. We need more programs like the Olympics of the Mind, for example.

Our country can benefit from inspired adults who sponsor projects that provide rewards to our youth for trying to resolve our great social challenges: the environment, crime, racism, violence, substance abuse, obesity, poverty, incarceration, rehabilitation, and even terrorism.

We also need to believe that our educational system can and will involve parents once again in a collaborative effort to educate our young people, and model acceptable social behaviors.

Parents may have to be held responsible for keeping their kids in school, and for teaching appropriate social values, preventative healthcare and positive mental attitudes.

Parents who leave their children alone all day to watch television, or let them wander the streets unsupervised, or abuse, or neglect them, could be held accountable by our society.

They might be encouraged to pay for the social treatment programs necessary to make up for the deficiency in their parenting skills.

To this end, our juvenile court system with high recidivism rates and antiquated laws, (encouraging the reunification of abused and neglected children with parents who are damaged mentally, emotionally, and socially), all need more reassessment and renovation. The courts must hold families accountable for child abuse, neglect, and criminal behavior.

We should hold the educational and juvenile court system accountable for providing the necessary treatment and support services necessary to salvage children, who are damaged by the bad decisions and self-destructive behaviors of their parents.

I believe parenting is not a right, it is a privilege. I think our culture should protect the rights of children to be safe from harmful parents as much as the legal systems protects the rights of all adults.

If necessary, pass a new constitutional amendment to guarantee our children legal protection from damaged parents who sexually, physically, or emotional abuse them.

We can’t afford to wait any longer for improvements in the educational system. Our dark secret says,” Leave it alone; somebody else can fix it. “

We need to face the social problems of today, not deny them, or believe we are too busy to resolve them. We can act now to do something positive about these problems.

Let us begin by expressing our feelings, both negative and positive about our educational crisis. We can start using positive thinking to develop a meaningful plan of action.

The only thing that can try to hold us back or our country back is the dark secret of fear. The negative side whispers in our ears: “Nothing better can be done at this time. ” But the only power fear has is the influence we give it by avoidance, denial, despair, anger, depression, guilt, and shame.

The Five Steps also shouts in our other ear a more positive message: Begin by facing the dark secret, release the negative feelings, and replace them with positive emotions and good thoughts. Actually, we can solve any problem if we devout our total creative energy to finding the right solutions. Which voice will influence you today?

Why you Shouldn’t Valet Park your Car

This week we are going to address an email that was sent to The G Manifesto:

“I wanted to let you know that I love the G Manifesto and all your advice. I dont mean to disrespect you but it seems like all your advice is for people that have a lot of money. I want to get girls and be a G. I am young (19) and want to be like you so if you if you could tell me how to make some cash that would help. Thanks. John. ”

Alright John. First of all, you can never be me. Second, Stay in School, study hard, take a corporate job, marry an ex-sorority girl that can’t cook and move to the suburbs. Do you really want the life of The G? Do you really want sleeping with beautiful women to seem mundane because it happens so frequent like flight mileage? (Actually, sleeping with beautiful women never gets mundane) But, do you really want to dodge bullets, deal with hit squads, experience betrayal, have friends sellout, avoid snitches, Cops, date models, Exotic Dancers, high-society blue blood girls, have mad cash flow, travel to beautiful locales, get treated like a king in nightclubs, Sushi Chefs giving you the best cuts of Toro, and have a wardrobe and gun collection that’s equivalent to most “successful” peoples net worth? Maybe you do. Either way I am not going to give you any advice, but I will tell a little story of what I did when I was younger and you can take from it what you will. Fair Enough?

When you are a typical 19 years old guy you don’t have many options for work or girls. No one is really going to hire you for 150k a year to come to the office every day. And no self respecting girl over 22 years old is going to date you. You need CASH or you are basically fu**ed. Here is what I did:

When I was young I got a Valet job at one of the hottest nightclubs in Hollywood. You know, Celebs, Actors, Actresses, Fly Girls, Playboys, Working class stiffs who wanted to be a part of it all etc. A perfect spot for a young up and coming Prototype G. So pay attention John, here is your Blue Print for Money Making:

Take over the Valet Stand

This very important. There will usually be some sort of hierarchy established already at most Valet Stands. You stage a Takeover like Jay-Z (just make sure you don’t get Ethered). You need to get rid of the top guy by any means necessary. Get the top guy fired if you need to. This is what I did: My Running Partner at time and I were hired the same day. I then proceded to tell the top guy who we will call “Shane” that we were taking over. Shane then told me to “f*** off”. So I dropped punches on him from all angles on him like Chuck “The Iceman” Lidell and finished him with my Signature, Six Punch Combo (Jab, Jab, Straight Right, Left hook to the body, Left hook to the head, Right hook to the head…gets them every time). In his defense, he was from somewhere like Irvine, California and I am from, well, The Streets so it wasn’t like we were in the same “weight class”. Plus, I think he was a Mormon or something (no offense to Mormons, but when was the last time you saw a Mormon on HBO PPV holding a belt above his head?). Now that we took over, my Running Partner and I were in charge of all the scheduling and we gave ourselves all the best shifts so we could Cake UP. Give the other guys the Sunday brunch shift where the walk with $45. Keep the Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat nights for you are your crew where you can split with 3 bills each.

Establish an Inner Circle

You need to create an Inner Circle of Valet guys who count, control and distribute the money. This way, you don’t have to split the cash evenly between all the workers. Lets say for instance there are 5 guys working on the night and $800 in tips to split up. Say three of you are in the “Inner Circle” and two are not. Give $200 in tips to each Inner Circle member and $100 to each guy outside the circle. Just that easy, you are making twice as much money as the next guy!

Learn Cars and who tips well

If you see a 60 year old cat roll up in a Sick Vintage GTO, let him know you will take care of him and give him a spot upfront. He might flip you a fifty. A 22 year old girl in a two door stick shift metallic purple Toyota Tercel is going to kick you a buck…. . at best. Be wary of famous people. I parked that Robin Leach’s (that jackass from “Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous” of all things) and he gave me $2! I wanted to grab the Louisville Slugger we kept at the Valet stand and destroy his ride, but my Running Partner stopped me. Who knows about how these young Hollywood actors tip today? My guess is they are cheap f***s. But then again, these days, it’s more likely that Ashton Kootchar chump would park my car than me parking his. (By the way, what is up with “young Hollywood” these days? What a collection of Fools. Every time I am partying in LA I can’t help but think how paper thin these guys are. I mean, come on, ripped jeans, dog tags, trucker hats, t-shirts ALWAYS with some gay design or writing on it, rings and bracelets? Weak. Not like I really care or give it much thought, but when someone finally wants to make a movie of my life, not one of these guys could play me on the big screen. Where are the DeNiro’s, Pacino’s, and Steven Bauer’s these days?)

Pretend like the Valet is full

This is a great hustle. Especially if you see some cat roll up fronting in a BMW with his girl. Tell him the lot is full but maybe you could make an exception if he takes care of you. He won’t want to seem like he is the cheap jerk like he really is in front of his chick. Good for a 20 plus every time. Make sure you exchange phone numbers with his girl when he is not looking. Just like that just ask to get “knocked”.

Borrow the Fly Rides

One of the guys I worked with always took the NSX’s, Ferraris, and Porches for rides around town after the people entered the club. I personally liked the vintage Muscle Cars, Cadillacs and occasionally the Lincoln’s with Suicide Doors (and I don’t mean Suits VS SuicideGirls either). I would cruise the cars to say hello to girls I was trying to swoop on so they could see me in different fly rides all the time. This doesn’t really help you make Scratch, but it does help you Pick up Girls.

Crash Cars

We used to crash and dent cars all the time. When you return them to the people leaving the club, just make sure the person drives off the lot. Once they drive off the property you are no longer liable. Know where the to pull the car up that is not well lit so the person can’t see the scratch all the way down his Lamborghini Countach. You don’t want to pay for all the damage you caused out of your own pocket, trust me.

The Skim

Every Valet lot has some system with tickets or what ever to track how many cars are parked every night. This is to determine how much money goes to the Club or the Valet Company. What ever the system is find a way to make it seem like you are parking less cars. Re-use tickets, make phony tickets, etc. You are the one doing all the work and you should make the Lionshare. Skim.

Swipe Pocket Change

Every car you park has at least a dollar in change in the ashtray. No one is going to miss it. Lets say you park 180 cars during a six hour shift, make sure you take a dollar in change out of every car. Who cares if the change is jingling in your pocket all night as you run around parking cars, you just increased your hourly pay rate by $30 an hour!

Swipe Drugs

If you are working at the right Nightclub/ Restaurant, plenty of Cars will have drugs in them. If a Mortgage Broker Type Guy pulls up in a Jaguar (actually, make that a two door weak BMW), “decent” girl in tow and they both have white rings around there nostrils, you better inspect the ride. When you park the ride, rifle thru the glove compartment, under the seat, and the center console. You will score. And it’s not like the guy is going to start yelling “Who took my Coke?!!!” when he realizes it’s gone. But know where the limits are. For instance, if an Asian Guy in a SharkSkin Issey Miyake Suit that looks like Brandon Lee, koi fish tattoos creeping up his neck, rolls up strapped in some Crazy Japanese Sports car with a super hot Asian Girl, “Blak Drgn” on his license plate, and you search his ride and find 20 kilos of heroin, you might not want to take them. Its up to you.

Deal Drugs

You have a perfect built in, ready made, supreme clientele (and I don’t mean that dope Ghostface album either). Other Valets, Club cocktail Waitresses, bartenders, Chefs, sous chefs, promoter guys, and bouncers all want drugs. Plus, a lot of the drugs you are getting are free. If you are working at the right spot, you should get solicited about 30 times a night for drugs by customers. I swooped some well known Actors girlfriends in those days because I was flipping, and the Actor guy thanked me for hooking them up after our transaction! Make sure you have it all; grass, beans, beeks, etc. . Start bankrolling other Valets. Who cares if you get fired? It is just a Valet job! Just make sure you save a little for a good Criminal Defense Attorney. (I am not certain, but I think the government doesn’t agree with some of this stuff…check your local laws). Who would have thought you could make $124,800 a year parking cars?! Tax free. Not bad for a 19 year old.

Lessons to be Learned for People who want to Valet their cars:

1. Never Valet your car

2. If you Really have to Valet your car, Never leave anything in it of value i. e. Guns, CASH, Drugs, uncut Emeralds, etc…

3. Always check your car before pulling away. (Unless you stole the car in the first place, which is the only circumstance that I will Valet)

4. Never Valet your car….

Keep in mind, there are a hundreds of us just like me, who cuss like me, dress sharp like me, walk, talk, act like me, might be the next best thing, but not quite me. The Rest is Up to You………………

Dark Secret About Healthcare Reform

There is a dark secret about healthcare in this country: The quality of our system is poor and millions of Americans can’t afford health insurance.

Poor Americans receive Medicaid, but too many experience inferior medical care. Also, lots of health care providers and doctors don’t want to accept Medicaid payments, which attempts to place limits on medical charges.

Retired Americans depend upon Medicare to meet medical needs, but there are serious gaps and limitations in the coverage. Retired citizens who are middle class can not afford to pay for long term care services available in nursing care homes or residential care facilities.

Many of our hospitals are managed poorly, have unacceptable mortality and infection rates, and are depressing places to die in. The quality of our health care in this nation seems to be totally dependent on one’s ability to pay.

But doctor visits, prescription costs, and high tech surgical care are placing huge financial stressors on everybody.

The rich are well cared for, the middle class experiences inconsistent care, and the poor have mostly inadequate care-based upon what they get in our emergency rooms.

Unfortunately, too many doctors and hospitals have become so busy that human emotions, compassion, and sensitivity have become lost in the shuffle.

Too often, pills, computers, and specialized machines have become substitutes for the health care professional’s time and attitude of tender loving care. It is time that we do something positive to reform are whole health care system.

Now that we have been honest and open about the problem, let’s go to the next steps on The Emotional Recovery Card. (EMC is my unique life coaching approach to personal and social change. )

Stop and Think:

Let’s stop approaching health care from the point of view of one’s ability to pay or as some simple commodity at the whims of our market economy. Health care should become a basic human right. So, let’s stop and think more about that.

Face Triggers:

We need to face our red flags, and see the private health insurance industry for what it really is: a business that seeks to make a profit from healthy people who don’t need it very often.

These corporations just keep striving to reduce coverage for “pre-conditions”, and they lobby against legislation to extend national coverage to the sick, poor, and elderly.

Some hospitals are red flags, because they are corporations who profit from becoming more specialized, bureaucratized, mechanized, and computerized.

Then there are the doctors who become red flags. Some dance with the dark secret of unlimited wealth, rather than embracing their oath to do no harm to others in desperate need of treatment.

Our government is a red flag because for too long it has submitted to the will of medical lobbyists, insurance corporations, and pharmaceutical companies.

Why can’t government be more sensitive to the needs of a majority of Americans buckling under the strain of our health care crisis?

Face Feelings:

Possibly, the healthcare industry and our own federal government are simply too fearful to try new approaches to reform and change.

I assume they don’t want to lose money, power, or influence. It makes me angry to sense they refuse to face their own dark secrets.

They claim a national health care system would decrease the quality of health care by taking away the profit motive. Of course, they avoid facing the fact that the profit motive is precisely the cause of our health care crisis.

It is sad to think that CEO’s of these corporations are making six figure incomes off the suffering of more than 47 million Americans who don’t have any health care coverage. How do you really feel about that?

And why do our political and business leaders seem so reluctant to look at the pros and cons of national health systems in Canada, the Netherlands, England, Germany and other European nations?

Can we forgive ourselves for thinking, believing, and pretending that our health care system based on profit is better than theirs?

Admit Powerlessness:

We do have a sense of being powerless to change the system. We remain at the mercy of the insurance companies who cancel our coverage because we have AIDS, Cancer, or some other expensive and catastrophic illness.

We can’t seem to budge certain hospitals that have turned medical care into assembly lines for beds, and patient charts, rather than a haven for love, compassion, and healing.

Many of us are powerless to change the medical profession and pharmaceutical industry, which say the market economy must determine the price for all health care costs.

At times, we can become hopeless or apathetic about professional politicians who are dependent on political contributions from the health care industry to get the money they need to stay in office.

I will complete our discussion of healthcare reform in my next article: Challenging the Dark Secret About Healthcare.

Causes and Treatment of Dark Circles Under the Eyes

There are many causes for dark circles under the eyes, the most common ones are : Hereditary reasons, the more transparent your skin, an inherited trait, the darker the circles appear. It could also be because you have inherited certain facial features (e. g. If you have deep-set eyes). Allergies - Any hidden allergies release histamine which makes the blood vessels more inflamed. Nasal congestion - the veins from the eyes drain into the veins of the nose. If the nose is blocked up, the veins around the eyes become larger and darker. Medications - Any medications that you are taking that causes blood vessels to dilate, can cause circles under the eyes to darken. Because the skin under the eyes is very delicate, any increase blood flow shows through the skin. Ill health - Appearance of dark circles may indicate problems or weakness in the kidney or liver activity. Exposure to the sun - Sun exposure, which triggers the skin pigment melanin to increase, may result in a darker appearance.

Iron deficiency - It is believed that lack of mineral iron can cause dark circles as well. Iron deficiency is the most common type of anemia and this condition is a sign that not enough oxygen is getting to the body tissues.

Treatment of dark circles under the eyes can be very challenging, especially for long term symptoms. It is important to identify the underlying cause instead of wasting money for expensive creams that may actually make the symptoms worse (e. g. if you are allergic to any of the substances used in those fancy creams). First line of treatment would be getting a comprehensive test for allergies (both inhalant and food tests). Improving life style may benefit your health as well – try to reduce your stress, sleep more and take the necessary vitamins and supplements. The lack of nutrients ( e. g. Vitamin C, Iron, Vitamin K, Folic Acid) in the diet, or the lack of a balance diet, can contribute to the discoloration of the area under the eyes. Vitamins C & K strengthen the capillary walls and blood vessel walls. Avoid caffeine, sugar-rich drinks and alcohol. Drink plenty of water; at least eight glasses a day. Regular exercise is always helpful, Cold water will cause blood vessels to constrict and reduce swelling.

Review of the Pink Floyd CD Dark Side of the Moon

Pink Floyd, the richly talented Rock group have released their latest CD titled Dark Side Of The Moon and Wow! It’s really a good one.

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Dark Side Of The Moon is a pleasantly varied, mix of 9 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly talented musicians. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

If you’re a Pink Floyd fan, or just a fan of Rock music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

While this entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 2 - On the Run, track 4 - The Great Gig In The Sky, and track 7 - Any Colour You Like.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [. . . as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 6 - Us And Them. Wow!

Dark Manipulation

“Dark Manipulation”

This is how it goes. . .

It changes normal words into woes

It can discolor the reddest rose

Nobody can explain

All the things it knows

It waits for its moment

To enter the gates

It is so evil

It never stops the wheel

It only hates

What is it?

Who created it?

It destroys everything bit by bit

Who made this bright dark glow?

Capable of devouring every rainbow

I know it is there. . .

It is everywhere.

To destroy this darkness

Is impossible

Your efforts couldn’t mean less

Soon you will feel its evil glory

Soon you too will feel worthless.

This is not new. . .

It has plagued all of history. . .

From the beginning is where it grew.

You can beat this dark seed.

All you need is a beautiful deed.

To keep it far away. .

To keep it at bay.

Keeping it at a distance

Is not so easy at first glance. .

But keeping your cause just

Is the only way to outsmart it.

In this i place trust. .

Lest you join the dear departed.

The Dark Side

None are righteous! Why is it that we love to point out the failures in others since we ALL have them. Granted, some have more serious problems than others but we all have the dark side to contend. Those thoughts that visit us frequently that no one knows about are always there ready to swing into action at the first good opportunity. Pity those who’ve not truly dealt with their limitations.

Mark Twain gave this sage advice, “Anyone who has had a bull by the tail knows five or six things more than someone who hasn’t. “

Until we have come to grips with the ego that sets itself apart from all others, we’ll continue to see ourselves as somewhat more righteous and more desereving than all others. And, we’ll be of little good to those who truly need help because we don’t know what “needing help” is all about.

There was a time when Shimei would have had his head cut off immediately. Shimei was a man of the Israelite tribe of Benjamin who held a deep grudge against King David. There was a time when Absolom, his son, could have been in a great deal of danger as well. Thou Shimei cursed David and threw stones at him, David wouldn’t respond, nor let his companions either.

You see, David had faced his own dark side.

Daivd had committed adultery, murder, and who knows what all. He knew of his humanity, his limitations and he cried out to God (Psalms 51) to whom his greatest pain was reflected. David had walked through the drakest valley and saw the mercy He needed and so therefore he was able to give mercy. God save us from the religious Pharisees of today who have not communicated with their dark side, not have they done battle with their limitations.

It’s hard to be humble in America!

It’s even harder to seek and give mercy in the American church! There are rules, doctrines, dogmas, confrontations, counseling, deliverances, and a host of punishments for those who go astray! Did I mention ex-communication too? We all need a Nathan to confront us, but what we don’t need is a crowd of Pharisees looking over our shoulder to judge and condemn those things that they have decided aren’t good for them. Jesus does not condemn us!

It’s a sad commentary against the church in America particularly that people who are down and out don’t see the church as a place to go for help. They see church and condemnation as synonyms, not church and mercy. As Donald McCullough wrote, “In David’s abject humiliaion he revealed his true greatness; when his authority was most eroded he showed himself most kingly. ”

When we accept that we’re naked and without clothes, the journey begins!

And lest we not forget, Jesus the Christ came from the line of David. David, “A man after God’s own heart”. It’s not about what you have done or want to do, but how you overcome and face your dark side, by teh grace of God!
